About Life's WORC

During our 44th year we continue to offer comprehensive services to over 1500 individuals and families in Manhattan, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties and provide supportive homes to over 251 people with developmental disabilities and Autism. Additional programs for both families and individuals include: at home supports, skills development and behavioral intervention, social recreational programs and vocational training opportunities.

Recognizing the ever increasing incidence of Autism, Life’s WORC opened a new facility in April 2015 dedicated to improving the lives of those on the Autism Spectrum and their families. The first of its kind, The Family Center for Autism introduced a revolutionary “family centric” treatment model that offers help and assistance to the whole family.

We also offer collaborative school linkage programs with Long Island school districts supporting individuals and families in need of applied behavior analysis interventions. Life’s WORC is also known for its efficiency.  In fact, as cited in our most recent audited financial report, nearly 90% of the money received by Life’s WORC goes directly to the treatment and wellbeing of those we care for.

Coordinated and focused through our unique Person-Centered Planning approach, all our services are provided with one goal in mind: To enable the individual to achieve their personal best, no matter what their abilities or challenges.

While how we achieve these goals may change, Life’s WORC remains a values-based organization that is deeply rooted in our humble beginnings.

Life’s WORC is an approved New York State 501(c)(3) organization that supports individuals with developmental disabilities. We are dedicated to ensuring that those with developmental disabilities and Autism are afforded opportunities to live life to the fullest.
